As most of you know we were moving soon, with boxes already packed.
And suitcases packed.
BUT, we are now staying in Pasadena for 6 more months.
Sorry I’ve been quiet for the past 2 weeks. We are in the process of packing for our move back to the UK.
I will try for a post next week.
We had a good New Year eve starting in the morning.
When we decided to go for a walk to Tournament House so we could see the KTLA5 news & weather crew, Mark Kriski, Jessica Holmes, Frank Buckley & Chris Schauble do their job.
Then after being all fan like we decided to cross the road to get my photo taken with Frank & Jessica.
We both had our cool person jackets on.
That was a great start to the day a 4.5 mile walk and meeting local celebrities.
It got to the evening and we were going to Essi & Mikko’s house for a small New Year’s eve party.
There was a grand total of 4 nationalities including British, Irish, German & Finnish.
We actually celebrated the new year at 9 pm due to children needing to go home for bed.
We carried on after they went we continued with many conversations & singing.
We were having that much fun we failed to take many photos.
The remaining people then all said happy new year at midnight. Needless to say we carried on drinking for a “wee” while longer. At home time we invited Andreas to our apartment as we had all finished our scotch & we still had Irish whiskey we could have one of all 3 of us. Our great conversation continued until 2:15, then we walked him to Colorado boulevard to call a taxi, we saw a lot of people camping for the Rose Parade. We parted ways & came home as I wanted to go to the parade for 9am.
I got up to go to the parade & left Christopher in bed. When I got up to Colorado blvd I was 3 steps from the parade route & had a good view.
When it started I was suddenly surrounded by people. Needless to say I was both ARRGGHHH & wow at the same time.
These pictures may not be in the right order but ENJOY!
I ended up just staying for 45 minutes as a kid being held kept hitting my head so I thought I should go home. When I got home I continued watching on tv.
Any way Happy New Year.
Our Christmas was a small one with just 2 of us, but if we are honest we like it. (sorry mum & dad)
We had a good American breakfast of pancakes, yum.
As we are going back to Europe we decided on minimal presents. I got Christopher a pair of Levi jeans & socks (I know old style present) he got these early as they were needed.
On Christmas day I got him a Guns’n’Roses t-shirt & a nice thermal jumper/sweater as his office is so cold. No pictures sorry.
Yes I had to get a picture of Christopher peeling spuds.
We had a kind of small dinner of pork loin chops(well he had 2), roast potatoes, honey roasted parsnips, mash & sweetcorn.
It was such a good dinner and I did well with the eating.
We had my white elephant present on our table.
Needless to say we were stuffed we waited a wee while until pudding. We had mandarin crumble, strange I know but gorgeous.
We rested & watched tv all day.
On Boxing Day we hired a car as we wanted to do a big shop and a bit of checking out views.
Yes we went to Walmart, I can be honest & say its not that different to vons pavilions.
After Walmart we decided to drive home via the bottom of Mount Wilson.
It was a great day.
The next post will be our new year.
